#OTD in 1915 – Nationalist Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa is buried in Glasnevin cemetery, Dublin. – Stair na hÉireann/History of Ireland
"The Fools, the fools, the fools! - they have left us our Fenian dead, and while Ireland holds these graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace." On this day 1915, 70,000 people lined the streets of Dublin leading up to Glasnevin Cemetery for the funeral of Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa. A man named Pádraig Pearse stepped forward and read an oration which would go down in Irish History.
