Exploring the alphabet by searching for magnetic letter treasure in the sand. We often add a magnetic board with letters written on it to match them as we find them. Great sand play and early literacy activity. Adventures with Isla-Brae

Ziploc bags with tempera paint. We practiced color mixing, fine motor skills, sensory exploration, and letter writing. It felt like getting messy... without the mess! Again, just a picture no link but so worth sharing this GREAT idea.

Mark making dice. Roll the dice and copy the pattern. Adapt this for writing numbers by inserting numbers, or use for games with pictures of Numicon plates.
Name graph. Math and Literacy combined activity. As children grow developmentally can do same activity with last names. Great for learning about graphing!
