So, at long last, here is the ‘how to’ reel for creating that planted ceramic I shared with you a month or so ago. The terrabase is a porous ceramic vase designed specifically for the purpose, which I picked up from @aquariumgardens and planted with some peacock moss that they also sell. Plantwise, I used Taiwanese beetle orchids (Haraella retrocalla), Australian pitcher plants (Cephalotus sp.) and dragon scale ferns (Pyrrosia nummulariifolia). But from previous experience, I have found you can use almost any plant that grows naturally on rocks or tree branches, and perhaps surprisingly, a whole range of carnivorous plants.
