Flannel Friday: Pirates!
To the Tune of Mary wore a Red Dress, and goes something like this: The pirate wore a *blue* patch, a *blue* patch, a *blue patch*, The pirate wore a *blue* patch all day long. Have kids bring up colors. Template is included here.
Pirate/sight words: treasure map of "aaargh" sight words...the "ar" cards w/sight words were hidden in varying spots. They had to read them b/f checking them off and when all were found/read, they got treasure (candy "bar" - get it?!?!) I'm thinking that my classroom theme next year will be pirates. This website has over 40 teacher submitted pictures with AWESOME ideas to pull it off. Arrrrrgh!
