St Brigid's Day art workshops in Kilteel
On Saturday I was delighted to be asked back yet again to do an art workshop for the St. Brigid's weekend celebrations at @kilteel_st_brigids arts festival. A lovely group of 4 to 7-year-old young artists learned all about the legend of St. Brigid's cloak before we sat down to create our artworks. We took the drawing step by step, breaking it down into simple shapes and building our story as we went. We looked at colour and pattern talking about context and what was happening in our story as we drew and we even looked at shading and shadows. I love to create art projects based around Irish history and culture. There's just so much scope for creativity in the stories of Ireland. Next week we will be in Dublin doing workshops for Lunar New Year. Happy St. Brigid's day everybody!
