Show Up and Do What You Can!
We all have good days working out. And that feels amazing. Sometimes there are days when we aren’t feeling it...and that’s fine too. On exercise days, if you show up for yourself and get some movement, it’s always better than the alternative. Do what you can, and be satisfied that you showed up.
Cutting Out the Noise
This may seem too simple, but this is what it comes down to, right? Smart exercise, delicious whole food, and consistency will bring great results. You will feel better, be healthier, have more energy, and be able to do more. No noise. That’s right, it doesn’t require expensive equipment, fancy gyms, gimmicky supplements, or misleading fitspiration pics. No noise. Healthy meals, smart movement, proper rest. Repeat.
Healthy Eating and Exercise
This should go without saying, but sometimes we might just need a reminder. Instead, think of how lucky we are to be able to affect our health and abilities in positive ways. Think about how wonderful healthy food makes you feel. Think about that amazing feeling and sense of accomplishment after exercising. Challenge Yourself Respectfully!
When it comes to exercise, don’t compare yourself to others; don’t let negative thoughts creep in and question your abilities or efforts. If you’re working out, that’s already a win. If what you’re doing is challenging to you, then it is challenging. Period. Let’s say that again—the only thing that matters is that it’s challenging to YOU.
Exercise Makes You Smarter!
Exercise makes you smarter, just not while you’re doing it. We have science behind us on the first part of this sentence. For the second part of the sentence, guess it’s more of a feeling. What about you? Have you noticed changes to your memory, cognitive skills, mental acuity from working out? Is there a particular type of workout that is your go-to to reduce stress and clear your mind? There are so many great reasons to exercise; isn’t it nice knowing that our brains can benefit too?
Health and Fitness Within Your Reach
Getting (and staying) fit is not easy. It takes hard work and dedication. However, don’t let this scare you off or cause you to question whether exercise and eating well are worth it. They are. They absolutely are! Find resources you trust; do what you can; eat as well as you can; and find what works for you. Health and fitness are within your reach, and it does not necessarily require a brutal, extreme makeover of your habits.
