1910 decor

My favorite tv series is When Calls the Heart. It's honestly the only tv show that I make sure to be in front of the tv to watch. I've been so enjoying my Saturday evenings

1910 Ladies Home Journal. Navy and yellow is so freaking classic. Love it. But the trim is white/not dark wood. Wouldn't look right with dark trim, I think. Note the curtains in the window.

According to this article from Ladies' Home Journal magazine in April 1912, "the first requirement of a living room is to give a feeling of cheerfulness and hospitality." I certainly love the glass doors that open to the fresh air and the the whole room seems to me to look much lighter than typical rooms of the day. This article also featured ideas for the bedroom and dining room, so in the next few entries I'll be continuing with those.
