Tawny frogmouths, which live in Australia, have huge, wide mouths that make them unmistakable (though they are often confused with owls). Their mouths, however, also make them seem like fluffy little chicks their entire lives!

Do you know what to do if find that a baby bird fell out of a nest? These steps may save a newborn bird, nestling, or fledgling from dying.

Fledgling American robin, Turdus migratorius. A robin built a nest on top of the light fixture on my patio this spring. She laid four eggs, all of which hatched and survived to fledge.
