I make these fairy garden shy fairies by hand from stoneware clay and fire them to 1,220 degrees centigrade in an electric kiln. Because she is made by hand and without using a mould each one is slightly different. Is she holding her hat down to shade her eyes from the sun or so shy she doesn't want you to see her face? Still to be done is glazing, likely another 2-3 hours each. And then it'll be time to fire them and transform them into gorgeous homes for the fairy folk. To my pottery family here I single fire everything. Which makes glazing a little scary and loading them into the kiln down right nerve wracking. But I single fire to keep electric costs down.
