This handcrafted wood bench comes in three pieces and takes under a minute to put together. The top part has to fitting holes which are called mortises, for which to lay upon the two bases. The piece of wood was carefully chosen for this type of craft. Which is then mortised, hacked, chiseled and sawed, until we take it for charring, commonly know as "Shou Sugu Ban" an ancient Japanese technique, done by charring the wood with a high flame.
