Ireland flowers

Thrift (Armreia maritime) This short tufted perennial grows to approximately 30cm. The flowers are small, pink in tight round heads and on downy leafless stalks above cushions of rather fleshy narrow leaves. This plant begins to flower in April and finishes toward the end of the summer. This plant is particularly at home around sea cliffs and in particular around Malin Head.
