Pituitary gland

The pituitary gland is located in the sella turcica of the sphenoid bone. It is connected to the hypothalamus by the infundibulum. There are two lobes of the pituitary gland: the posterior (neurohypophysis) lobe and the anterior (adenohypophysis) lobe.
