A coloured lithograph of the Imperial State crown with a blue velvet cap and the Black Princes ruby in the centre; with four commemorative coins and the mace on a red velvet cushion trimmed with gold. With an inscription below: The Imperial Crown of Great Britain / Which In Obedience To The Command Of / Her Most Sacred Majesty Queen Victoria / was expressly made for the solemnity of the Coronation.

This jewel is the only tiara made by a consort for a monach. Prince Albert commissioned it from the Queen's jeweller Joseph Kitching. It is set with 19 sepctacular pear-shape emeralds. (c) Historic Royal Palaces

A crown frame of a double circlet of gold with silver jewel settings, no longer mounted with stones. The arches in the form of oak leaves, the monde missing, with a red velvet cap and ermine band.

A sapphire and diamond coronet designed by Prince Albert for Queen Victoria has been acquired by the V&A Museum. It was previously sold by a London dealer to an overseas buyer but was blocked from export by the government in 2015.

Queen Victoria's emerald and diamond parure, circa 1845. The diadem was designed by Prince Albert for Queen Victoria and created to complement a necklace set with nine oval emerald clusters, each within a border of cushion-shaped diamonds. The accompanying earrings and an impressive 20ct emerald and diamond brooch, both of which were also gifts from Albert.

We continue with the Royal Jewels and today we are looking at Queen Victoria’s Emerald Tiara, circa 1845 CE. Prince Albert worked closely with the Queen’s Jeweller, Joseph Kitching, to design a tiara that would complement Victoria’s emerald and diamond parure. This exquisite piece demonstrates Albert’s creative abilities. The Queen, delighted with the gift, wrote in her diary of her husband’s ‘wonderful taste’.
