I can build a 12” tall vase in minutes (at least get the body done). With just a few well placed darts the shape can change quickly. I’ve never had luck or much interest using the pottery wheel, but this method has kept me interested for nearly 15 years." Step 2 is to compress your clay before you start building. It might seem like a small step, but it can make a big difference! Another effective trick is to ensure slow, uniform drying. Cover it with plastic and add some weights on top to keep the base flat. You can use kiln posts, glaze bottles or other pieces from your studio to weigh down your pieces. The plastic covering helps promote uniform drying, which is essential for avoiding warping Clay Serving Platters, Clay Platters Ideas, Pottery Hand Build Ideas, Slab Plates Ceramics, Pottery Trays Handmade, Easy Hand Built Pottery Ideas, Ceramic Trays Handmade, Ceramic Platters Handmade, Pottery Plates Handmade
