What would you do with a swimming pool filled with tea? The tea is Nourishing Sencha from Teanobi. The models are HO scale. I was going for something playful and whimsical.

Little People

Lately I have been obsessed with the idea of miniature portraits. I like shrinking people (usually myself) into tiny beings and merging them with the surroundings. The tiny world fascinates me in so many different levels. These are the pictures of my series "A SMALL WORLD".

Most of us start losing our wild childish imaginations when we grow up, but not Akiko Ida and Pierre Javelle. Since 2002, these two professional food photographers have been shooting a playful series of dioramas called MINIMIAM (“miam” is French for “yum”) that place miniature people in a world of over-sized food. In their dioramas, Javelle and Ida arrange miniature model train in everyday positions and situations that connect playfully with the fruits, vegetables, pastries and other foods…

Un Petit Monde: An engaging set of images to stimulate talk or writing based on sets of photos of tiny people in unusual situations. Check out the miniature rower fending off giant crayfish in the Puddle Monster series! The Slinkachu website and blog offer more of these intriguing scenes and hints of a world of miniature people to be discovered. Chris Dicken at Parklands Primary School in Northamptonshire builds on this idea by photographing surprising scenes around the school.
