Schleich Baby Hippopotamus 1.5 Inches
The hippopotamus family has new members with the hippopotamus calves from schleich! hippos are large, heavy herbivores that live near rivers and lakes in africa. Calves are often born in the water and can even be suckled underwater. At birth the hippopotamus calves already have strong legs, just like the ones from schleich, and can walk soon after being born. After a couple of weeks the impressive, tusk-like canine teeth of these mammals start to grow.

They are also a TUSKED deer with 1'' long fangs & have striking scent glands around their eyes. Additionally, they are not social animals & do not live in herds--they are solitary & extremely territorial. They also have no set breeding season & can conceive throughout the year.

Inspired by a similar instance on a chance encounter in Kenya’s Masaii Mara, I wanted to capture the largest and most powerful animal on land with all his stunning speed and fearsome size. Combining movement, texture and light, my goal with “Final Warning” is to create a sense of life as the powerful bull Ele
