DIY: Painting without the fumes
Remembering this when i paint my new house -- To get rid of paint fumes... add a tablespoon of vanilla extract to a gallon of paint, mix well. It does not affect paint color! And makes the whole room smell like vanilla when you're done! Need this now!!!

From Just a Girl blog - She uses this primer on everything with very little, and usually NO SANDING, and gets amazing results. She also uses Benjamin Moore's low luster Iron Clad Latex for metal & wood ENAMEL paint & applies it sponge rollers. The results are excellent: no streaks or lines. The pain looks sprayed on and just perfect.

This is excellent to use on kitchen cabinets or any wood surface before painting... gives a "tooth" to the surface so paint adheres. Use in well ventilated area, smelley but very effective to prevent paint from chipping.
