DUNSEVERICK CORPS, CO. ANTRIM, LATE 18TH C IRISH YEOMANRY SHOULDER BELT PLATE Oval, cast brass, crowned Maid of Erin harp engraved at centre, twin ribbons above and below bearing the regimental title ''Dunseverick Corps'', single hook and pair of fixing studs to reverse, circa 1798, 2.8'' x 2.1'' (7.2 x 5.4cm) vertical approx. Excavated condition, some pitting and loss of detail, a noble relic. The Dunseverick Corps acted as local auxiliary support to the garrison at Coleraine.

Was disbanded in 1798 due to treachery and was reraised in 1858 and was immediately converted into a Lancer Regiment(5th Royal Irish Lancers). Although it retained its regimental number it lost its seniority and was ranked after the 17th Lancers
