H. 13.8 cm. Gold. Greek, 4th-3rd cent. B.C. A rare example of an ear of wheat made of gold. Two elongated leaves at the top of the stalk. The ear consists of three rows of kernels. The silk strands that emerge from the kernels are made of fine wire. The silk infront and at the back is pressed close the ear. The leaves show traces of bending.
