I love this idea as it is so simple and can be used for so many areas. For addition and subtraction, write the questions on the right and the answers on the left (just take questions from a textbook). Children have to use an empty number line to show their methods (that and a photo of the sticks in order is your evidence). For Non-Canonical Forms, write the number on the right and its non-canonical form on the left (if you want to make it easier do it the other way round).
