Learning to let go
When a tree loses leaves, the tree does not fear or grieve the loss but is more than willing to let go of something that is considered dead weight. It knows that new life is on the way, it just needs patience and a nurturing environment. Our attachment to things, people and parts of our identity can leave us holding on to things that no longer serve us. The art of letting go requires us to be patient and faithful that in releasing what is no longer serving us, we are making room for new life.

Busy girls book club #1
The Alchemist by Paul Coelho Although the phrase “It’s about the journey and not the destination.” is more eye-rolling than inspiring, The Alchemist allows the reader to see a living breathing example of why this phrase is so commonly used. Whether you’re 18 or 81, broke or wealthy, just starting a journey or on the cusp of reaching your destination, this book is so universally applicable to anyone at any stage of their life. The lessons I’ve gained are lessons I know that I’ll return to again and again as I grow. Short and sweet but stuffed with wisdom, this book is a must have on everyone’s bookshelf.
