Total Spending July 2024
8 days into the month and I have about $130 left of my allocated miscellaneous spending 😂. After some really good news that got us ahead with math guys student loan payoff, we decided to take a trip for his upcoming birthday. The spending you see above is the cost of a 4 night getaway (I’ll go more in detail on a different post). June and July have really been rest months for me in terms of money goal reaching. A lot of things have been on auto-pilot as I navigate through pride month, July 4th, and now all of these July birthdays. It also surprisingly doesn’t stress me out to basically blow a paycheck on a birthday trip. Not recommended of course, and definitely a rare occurence! . #personalfinance #financialfreedom
April Financial Freedom Round-up
This month I was so overwhelmed with work that I chose to put my finances on auto-pilot. And thank goodness to past me for making that decision. I find that auto-piloting your finances makes it easier to stay the course during rough patches, while also serving as an encouragement boost when you re-visit at the end of the month. How to save money on groceries
What would you do with an extra $1,500? The crazy part is that the average American family of 4 loses about $1,500 worth of food waste a year. All that uneaten, rotten, and unplanned food adds up quickly. This is honestly the one area of our finances we can all improve on without attacking each other. Food waste is a real problem and it’s costing us a lot of money that can be used in so many other ways. This is one of the reasons why I don’t just create a meal plan. I need to have a plan for my food and then put some execution to my plan by meal prepping. Once I’m done meal prepping, I don’t have a herbs or bin of lettuce spoiling in the back of my fridge anymore. I know that every ingredient in my fridge has a purpose. My half-used cilantro is for my tacos de carnitas on Tuesday and t
