Starting and ending at Inverness, I would recommend going anti-clockwise so that you get the best views of the famous Applecross mountain pass. 1 - Applecross mountain pass 2 - Wailing Widow falls 3 - Durness beach 4 - Pink house at Loch Glass 5 - Kylesku bridge 6 - Castle Sinclair Girnigoe 7 - Smoo cave 8 - Ben Wyvis (1,046m) 9 - Torridon #nc500 #roadtrip #scotland #visitscotland #scotland #hiddenscotland | Tom Sigler 🇬🇧 | aarondolan_music · Outlawed Tunes on Outlawed Pipes

15K views · 745 reactions | If you're planning on doing the NC500 this summer, take note and please read below 👇 This is one of my favourite sections of the route!! Please be aware this was back in November, well out of season, so if you're taking on these roads this summer, they will not be so quiet and it's important to please be courteous of others and particularly locals if you're in campervans or motorhomes. Personally if I see a car behind me, I always pull into the next passing place and wave them through, they're more than likely local just going about their day. I also always look ahead to see where the next passing places are & pay attention to what's coming along the road, well into the distance, in case I need to pull in. When you do use a passing place or someone waits for you in another, give them a wave to say thanks. It doesn't take much effort but it goes a long way, especially with locals as they'll always wave back whoever it is that's giving way ☺️ its what we do in Scotland so enjoy the friendly experience. One last thing : always buy local when doing the NC500. Help the local communities thrive and make use of honesty boxes along the way. The eggs, honey, fresh berries and vegetables you get near farms in honesty boxes all over the NC500 are to die for! #scotland #scottish #scottishhighlands #scotlandtravel #nc500 | Scottishmaninavan | Scottishmaninavan · Original audio

Sadly, the hut was only built and used here for three of the Harry Potter movies, but has since been removed. Still, the site is absolutely stunning, with mountains and waterfalls surrounding it and who knows- you might even spot a hippogriff. ⁣ ⁣ 📍Jacobite Express, running from Fort William to Mallaig: You can take the real life Hogwarts Express (i.e., the same vintage train model and railway as the ones used in the movies) through the Scottish Highlands from April through October 🚂. Be sure to book early- tickets to the train sell out over six months in advance! ⁣ ⁣ 📍Victoria Street, Edinburgh: This colorful street has long been rumored to be the inspiration of Diagon Alley (although JKR debunked that it was based on a real place in Twitter 🙈). Still, she lived in the area while she was writing some of the books, so it definitely may have been in the back of her mind when she created it (the Diagon Alley vibes are strong, y’all!). ⁣ ⁣ 📍Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glenfinnan: Even if you don’t take the Jacobite Express, you can see the most famous section of the Hogwarts Express’ route, which was used in four of the films. There’s a viewpoint overlooking the viaduct, and if you time your visit right (around 10:45 AM and 3 PM), you can actually watch the real life Hogwarts Express chug across it. ⁣ ⁣ 📍Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh: With its turrets and location perched on a hill, it’s rumored that Edinburgh Castle was the inspiration for Hogwarts. ⁣ ⁣ Are you a Potterhead ⚡️?⁣ ⁣ 👋🏽 Hi, we’re Justin & Jess. The weather is ever changing and makes it a little more difficult. @lbry.photo on Instagram: "Hogwarts Express. This is the same train you see in the movies when filmmakers record aerial footage of the train moving throughout the countryside heading to Hogwarts. The countryside is Scotland. What I find way more interesting is the Glenfinnan Viaduct the train is crossing. It was constructed in 1897 and is mass concrete. The curve is 792 feet long. So cool. • • • • #harrypotter #hogwarts #hogwartsexpress #scotland #scotlandtravel #scotlandexplore #scotlandshots

The name Scotland derives from the Latin Scotia, land of the Scots, a Celtic people from Ireland who settled on the west coast of Great Britain about the 5th century CE. The name Caledonia has often been applied to Scotland, especially in poetry. • Have you ever been to any of these places before?🌿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 • 📸: @thestorytellers_mtl 📍: 1: Ed
