Mental Health Matters Often when I'm feeling troubled or sad I try to stay away from my friends. Either I don't want to share my vulnerability or I don't want to seem like that person that's always moaning about something! But I ALWAYS feel better after chatting with a friend. It actually makes them feel more connected to me and they are happy to offer advice or just a different perspective on the situation that I can't see. So perhaps today is the the day to be brave and reach out?

Mantras
A mantra is a short empowering statement that can really help to shift your thoughts. Here are some I use . . . "I did the best that I could at that time with the knowledge that I had" - I use this one if I'm beating myself up about something I did or didn't do! "it doesn't matter if I sleep or I don't sleep, I'm resting my body" - I use this one in bed at night when I can't fall asleep! "close enough is good enough" - I use this when I'm striving for perfection instead of excellence.
Mental Health
Often when we are going through difficult times we can feel alone and like we are the only ones 'struggling' with our thoughts and emotions. Sometimes I feel like a fraud because I teach you guys how to be calm and resilient and then there are days when I feel tired, anxious and overwhelmed. Please don't feel like you are alone. We all have those days when we feel like everyone else is succeeding and we are failing. Remember you are never failing but having a learning experience.
When we are struggling all we have to do is ask for help. I know it's not an easy thing to do, to be vulnerable but we all need the support of family and professionals from time to time.
